Company partners with URCA for GICT

Nassau, The Bahamas. March 29, 2018. On April 26th, BTC will partner with the regulator, URCA as it hosts the annual Girls in ICT Event. This year’s event will take place in Grand Bahama, and BTC is excited for the opportunity to showcase its diverse organization to young ladies interested in a career in telecommunications. The company will be the platinum sponsor for the event.

BTC CEO, Dexter Cartwright said, “While the Girls in ICT Event highlights the contributions that women have made in the information, communications and technology landscape, it also demonstrates BTC’s commitment to harnessing the best talent in the world. During the entire month of April, we will be highlighting the achievements of women all across our organization.”

Girls in ICT Day is an initiative observed by the ITU, which focuses on girls and young women pursuing careers in the field of ICT. “We are looking forward to this year’s event. The theme, “Expand Horizons, Change Attitudes” is timely.”

Last month, BTC celebrated the achievements of two ladies in the company who were awarded by Professional Services Bahamas as leaders in business.

“We’re happy that this event is happening in another island this year. And we’re particularly happy that it’s happening in our second city, Grand Bahama. In the last year, we’ve made notable investments in our Grand Bahama network, and now we’re beginning the process of sharing these improvements with our customers. BTC is delivering fast internet and Flow TV throughout Grand Bahama,” Cartwright ended.
