Nassau, The Bahamas - The Miss Bahamas Universe Pageant grand finale took place at the Rainforest Theatre at the Wyndham Nassau Resort on Sunday, May 24th.

Taking the coveted crown was Miss Bimini, Kiara Sherman who by winning the 2009 Miss Bahamas Universe title will represent The Bahamas while the world looks on at the Miss Universe Pageant to be held here in The Bahamas during late August.

Miss Sherman is a recording artist and has performed with the Bahamian band, Visage, and  sings the popular tune "Private Dancer". She went to Aquinas College and her platform was on child abuse. She volunteers at the Crisis Center.

Ife Bethel-Sears won Miss Earth title, and Amanda Appleyard won the Miss International title.
