Tourism Director General gets her copy of "RAIN"
Nassau, Bahamas - Director Maria Govan has done it again, after winning awards at
Toronto and Bahamas International Film Festival, premiering on Showtime
network, "Rain" the film about a young girl struggle to connect with her
mother has finally come out on DVD. The Bahamian film continues to
break new ground, the movie is now available in the United States and is
selling well in the Florida area at popular stores like Walmart and
Target. RAIN is now ranked at #32 on Amazon this week in African
American Cinema category. Tourism Director General Vernice Walkine
congratulated Maria and Renel on their efforts and
received an autographed copy.
Actress
Ranel
Brown,
also spoke about her experiences during filming of
Rain in Eleuthera and
Nassau
in January/February 2007. During the summer of 2009, Ranel was sponsored by
Cable
Bahamas
' Cable Care
Division to attending acting classes at UCLA School of Dramatic Arts in
Los Angeles
for three
weeks. Ranel commented that this was an awesome experience as she interacting
with some of
Hollywood
's
top acting instructors.
Rain now available on DVD at such places as Walmart, Tartget, and globally on Amazon.com, Netflix, and Blockbuster.
