6 Bahamians arrrested in $350,000 drug bust in Nassau

Nassau, Bahamas - Six Bahamian men ages, 48, 44, 29, 27, 25 and 23 are in custody after they were arrested for a large quantity of dangerous drugs on Friday 23rd May 2014.

According to reports, around 6:00pm a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit acting on intelligence went to an area on West Bay Street opposite St. Albans Drive, referred to as the Sand Track, where they observed the men gathered near a moored 18 foot Boston Whaler vessel. A search was conducted of the vessel and 250 pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of $350,000 was found.

The men were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court early next week to face drug related charges.
