Nassau police seize 2 firearms, 6 males in custody

Nassau, Bahamas -  Saturated police patrols have resulted in two illegal firearms being seized and the arrest of six (6) men for firearm possession on Saturday 17th May 2014.

In the first incident, shortly before 10:00pm Officers from the Internal Security Division were on Patrol on Lyon Road off Kemp Road, where they arrested two males ages, 37 and 20 after finding a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition in their possession. The two men are expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.

In the second incident, shortly before 12:00midnight, Officers from the Flying Squad were on Patrol on Victoria Boulevard, where they conducted a search of a black Honda vehicle with four male occupants and found a handgun along with a quantity of ammunition. The four males ages 27, 25, 22 and 21 were taken into custody and is expected to appear in court early this week to be formally charged.
