POLICE INVESTIGATES ARMED ROBBERIES
Nassau, Bahamas - Police on the island of New Providence are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating several male suspects believed to be responsible for two separate Armed Robberies which occurred on Thursday 2nd July 2020.
In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 4:00am, a male while walking along Wulff Road in the vicinity of Market Street, was accosted by (6) males one of whom was armed with a cutlass robbed him of his wallet. Investigation into this matter continues.
In the second incident, according to reports, shortly after 7:00pm, two males one of whom was armed with a handgun walked into a business establishment situated East Street South, they accosted a female cashier and robbed her of cash. The suspects made good their escape in an unknown direction. Investigations into this matter continues.
DANGEROUS DRUGS RECOVERED – SIX MALES AND TWO
FEMALES ARRESTED
Police have recovered a quantity of dangerous drugs from the streets of New Providence and have taken six males and two females into custody on Thursday, 2nd July 2020.
In the first incident, according to reports, shortly after 5:00pm, officers from the Operations Unit while patrolling Valencia Avenue observed a male who aroused their suspicion. The officers conducted a search of the male and recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody.
In the second incident, according to reports, shortly after 8:00pm, officers from the Operations Unit acting on information went to a residence on Croton Street, Pinewood Gardens, where they conducted a search. The officers recovered a quantity of marijuana plants. Five males and two females where arrested and taken into custody.
In the third incident, according to reports shortly before 6:00pm, officers from the Operations Unit were on routine patrols on Ragged Island Street, when they observed a male walking. On seeing the police, the male fled through a track road, officers gave chase and noticed when an item fell from the suspect who was successful in evading the officers. When the officers returned to where the item was dropped, they recovered a quantity of suspected marijuana. Investigation into this matter continues.
