New semester underway at Ross University Bahamas

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - Another semester is underway at Ross University's Bahamas clinical site at at Seahorse Plaza in Freeport. 

The Medical Education Review Program (MERP) is a rigorous 15-week, one semester program designed to provide preparatory basic sciences course content typically offered during the four semesters of the Basic Medical Sciences Program offered by Ross University in Dominica. The selected courses integrate and articulate with coursework and content offer ed in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd semesters. Successful completion of the MERP Program allows the student to be eligible to the First semester at Ross University School of Medicine.


Any student not meeting the passing criteria during the semester will not be promoted to the Ross University program. Students are not allowed to repeat a course. MERP is a one-semester chance for a student to qualify for admission to Ross University School of Medicine.

Ross University was founded in 1978 and is a provider of medical and veterinary education offering doctor of medicine and doctor of veterinary medicine degree programs. The School of Medicine is located in Dominica, West Indies, and the Freeport, Grand Bahama campus recently opened in January 2009. The School of Veterinary Medicine is located in St. Kitts. Ross University's administrative offices are located in North Brunswick, NJ.  Ross University has more than 9,000 alumni with M.D. and D.V.M. degrees. http://www.rossu.edu/
