Job Title:
Director of Finance
Overview:
The Director
of Finance at Ross University School of Medicine oversees and manages
financial information for the University. The overall responsibility
for developing financial programs that support all aspects of the University
rests with the Director of Finance. The Director of Finance as a member
of the Dean's Council works collaboratively with the Dean, other Associate
Deans, Department Chairs, program directors, and faculty and staff.
Responsibilities
-
Develop Internal
Audit programs and establishes and maintains cash controls.

Prepare cost analysis
for review by senior administration.
-
Make recommendations
for improvement of cash flow and expenditure.
-
Coordinate with
senior managers to ensure the timely submission of consumable and capital
budgets.
-
Submit final budgets
to Head Office.
-
Prepare budget analysis,
actual against estimated.
-
Oversee campus budget
and maintain adequate budget control
-
Maintain records
of bank balances.
-
Review end of the
month Trial Balance, Bank Reconciliation and other journals.
-
Ensure adequate
internal controls and compliance to Sarbanes Oxley.
-
Oversee the operation
of the Accounting/Finance Department.
-
Oversee the operations
of the Bursar and Supply Chain Departments.
-
Ensure accuracy
and timely submission of monthly financial reports
-
Control all petty
cash activities.
-
Perform any other
duties commensurate with the position which may be reasonably assigned
from time to time.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-
Bachelor’s
Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required, Master’s or
certification by CPA, ACCA or CGA preferred
-
At least 5 years
experience in management at the senior level in higher education administration,
or a record of progressively increasing administrative responsibility.

Familiar
with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

Familiar with
accounting software

Experience in
leading and mentoring a team

Excellent communication,
computer and data management skills.

Job Title: Learning Lab
Manager
Overview:
The Learning Lab Manager will
supervise the activities of the learning and research labs and work
cooperatively with the Department Chairs and Faculty to facilitate student
use of the learning labs. Other duties will also include:
Responsibilities

Maintain the schedule
of the learning labs

Organize the physical
set-up of the laboratories for scheduled class sessions as well as independent
student lab activities

Organize the budget
for the learning labs

Supervise students
working independently within the learning labs

Supervise some additional
laboratory personnel on campus

Assist in the Learning
Labs with scheduled student laboratory activities
-
Maintain security
within the labs
-
Maintain up to date
information on US and Dominican regulations on laboratory safety including
ordering, storing and disposal of chemicals and assuring regulations
are followed at Ross
-
Perform any other
duties commensurate with the position which may be reasonably assigned
from time to time.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Minimum of a Bachelors degree
in a scientific field
Some general lab experience
Proficiency with computers
and scientific equipment including microscopes is required
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility and ability to
work well on a team and with others
Positive working relationship
with faculty and staff
Demonstration of leadership
skills a plus
Basic scientific knowledge
and laboratory skills to effectively supervise both students and staff
in the labs.
