FREEPORT, Grand Bahama – Sawyer’s Fresh Market, one of the leading food
chains on Grand Bahama, came to the aid of Hurricane victims in the
South and Central Bahamas on Friday morning.

supermarket donated a forty-foot container to the National Emergency

as the "silent killer”, because it doesn't usually cause any symptoms.
It damages the heart and blood vessels without ever causing pain. For
this reason, the ladies of the Pi Upsilon Omega Chapter of Freeport
Grand Bahama Island partnered with Sawyer's Fresh Market, Registered
Nurse Vernita Russell and Registered Nurse Lesia Knowles to host a three
hour High Blood Pressure Awareness Campaign.
The
choice of food intake plays a key role in maintaining healthy blood

As temperatures drop and the economy continues to struggle, the members of the
Kiwanis Club of Eight Mile Rock will work hard this coming Boxing Day to usher
in a spirit of giving with their annual luncheon and breadbasket programme. In
order to make this special event a success, Kiwanians request the assistance
from individuals in the greater community to do their part and give what they
can, extending an opportunity for everybody to partake in the spirit of
generosity. The Grand Bahama Port Authority, Limited (GBPA) and Sawyer’s
