May 1st, 2009 Freeport, Grand Bahama Island - The Salvation Army's "Eating up a Storm" grilled chicken cookout drew droves of chicken lovers from near and far to Junkanoo Beach Club on Taino Beach to support The Salvation Army as they gear up for hurricane season 2009.

Serving hundreds of 1/2 Cajun marinated chicken dinners with corn on the cob and a dinner roll to the famished "TGIF" crowd was handled graciously with the generous of support of volunteers and Salvation Army advisory committee members.

Hands down, the highlight of the evening was Jay Mitchell live in concert. Jay Mitchell proved beyond a doubt that the magic that was Jay Mitchell still IS Jay Mitchell.

Performing tunes from the Otis Redding and James Brown era on up to Jay's new original music, the crowd just couldn't get enough of Jay. Backed up by “The Good Ole Boyz” band featuring Joe Fox on drums, Mark Carey on keyboards and Michael Wilchcombe on Bass, Jay had a solid wall of sound behind him as he memorized his audience.

In the video excerpt included in this article you will experience the next best thing to being on location at Jay's captivating performance.
Jay now performs live at Junkanoo Beach Club Friday nights from 9PM – 11PM.

The husband and wife team of Joe & Nelda Fox form the new management of Junkanoo Beach Club. For more info on the exciting activities happening at the club, be sure bookmark or visit www.thebahamasweekly.com regularly.
