Nygard Cay, The
Bahamas - The Bahamas Weekly News Team is please to take you on a 2008 Bahamas Destination
exclusive tour at the world famous Nygard Cay residence owned by Canadian fashion tycoon Mr.
Peter Nygard. TBWeekly's Dave Mackey and Robbin Whachell accepted an
invitation to attend the 2008 Bahamas Fashion Week by the event founder,
Kevin Strakan.
During that visit the Team was invited to Nygard Cay and given a private tour and held an interview with Peter Nygard on the very same day he received his Lifetime Achievement Award for his achievements in fashion at Bahamas Fashion Week. The Nygard Collection was also featured.
Listen to
a VIDEO interview with Peter Nygard himself and let us take you on a brief but amazing tour around his magnificent property at the tip of Lyford Cay in New Providence.
Since the time of this visit Nygard has had his share of hardships, with the fire which broke out on November 11, 2009 to the passing of his mother, Hilkka shortly after in January 2010.
Nygard is known for hosting many lavish parties, or supporting large events on his property. He's had a slew of celebrities stay on the property, including Oprah who subsequently said, "I'm not living large enough!"
Nygard is passionate about volleyball and plays avidly himself. He also supports The Bahamas national volleyball team, the 'Golden Girls'; as well as Bahamian boxer Valentino Knowles.
