Freeport, Bahamas - Russian adventurer, Sergei Morozov who has been in Grand Bahama for over a month during his sailing journey around the world. Sergei traveled from Bermuda to Grand Bahama, but his trip began from Halifax, Canada on the 5th of December 2011. He is preparing to next 'row around the world' and break a world rowing record. "The leg between Halifax and Bermuda was my hardest part of my trip..." he explains with very bad conditions causing him to fear for his life.
While in Grand Bahama Morozov has his 35 foot Hikari sailboat, "Dreamaker" docked at
the Port Lucaya Marina, thanks to Preben Olesen and the Grand Bahama Yacht Club. His next stop is the Panama Canal, and he is seeking sponsors / advertisers to help with the journey.
"I wait for good weather for passage to Panama. I am looking for advertisers who'd be interested in seeing their brands in the most distant corners of the world." Morozov updates those interested in his travels on his blog "блога" (in Russian) or at http://navigatorpirate.livejournal.com/. The Bahamas Weekly News Team caught up with the sailor / rower at the Yacht Club for this informal video interview on-board his sail boat.
The Russian takes us on a tour around his boat and explains his navigation, eating and sleeping methods, as well as introduces us to his beloved feline 'captain'. Aside from thanking Preben Oleson, he thanked Shauna Bean and Karen Clarke for helping with his stay in Grand Bahama
