Back to school has arrived, and with it comes the sad farewell to
summer. While saying goodbye to this dear summer will surely be hard to
do, welcoming the fun and festive fall season rife with tons of chic
fall trends is a silver lining.
Fall doesn’t officially roll
around until September 23, giving you several weeks to plan how to
incorporate some of this year’s hottest fall trends into your wardrobe
arsenal. Check out four of fall’s most wearable trends and easy ways you
can incorporate them into your wardrobe.
Polka Dots
Back
over stripes, it’s all about polka dots this fall season. Polka dots are
fun and playful, reminiscent of girly childhood dresses. However, you
can make polka dots grown and sophisticated.

Transform this
cheeky pattern with sexy fabrics such as sultry silk in grown-up jewel
tones such as ruby and emerald. A flattering silhouette such as a wrap
dress or blouse dials up the grown-up factor and tempers the playfulness
of polka dots for a look that is chic yet whimsical.
Many
designers went nuts for polka dots this fall season, however none of
them showed looks as drool-worthy as Stella McCartney. Her fall line is
filled with feminine little black (and white) dresses with sheer fabric
inserts emblazoned with polka dots and spots - tres chic!

Maxi Skirt
Oh
how Bahamian women love the maxi dress - and for good reason. Maxis are
flattering on many different figures and they make pulling together an
outfit for everything from a casual Saturday outing to a first date a
cinch.
This fall, introduce the maxi skirt to your wardrobe.
This trend was hot for spring and summer and is carrying over into fall
and winter. This flowing, floor sweeping silhouette adds glamour to even
the simplest looks. Get creative and experiment with tops that are
casual or cropped, or walk on the wild side and layer a short dress over
your maxi skirt for a funky layered look this fall. The possibilities
are endless.
If you’re a simple T shirt girl like myself, a maxi
skirt is the perfect way to add elegance to a plain white tee. Add a pop
of color with a narrow or wide belt and voila, a feminine and
comfortable look is born.

Plaid
Anna Wintour,
Editor-in-Chief of Vogue magazine donned a colorful plaid outfit as she
spectated day one of the US Open, instantly validating plaid as a hot
fall trend for fashionistas worldwide. Weary of trying out this trend?
Choosing one stellar plaid piece for your look rather than head-to-toe
tartan is a great way to introduce this age old pattern into your
wardrobe.
Investing in a plaid blazer in a pseudo-neutral hue
such olive green or navy blue makes it a quick piece to throw over a
monochromatic look to add personality.
Bright Trousers
Pack
away those summer short shorts and make room for sophisticated trousers
with a twist - bold bright hues. Make your gams the star of your outfit
in fun hues reminiscent of spring such as lipstick red and fuschia. A
simple pair of slim-fitting, tailored flat front trousers paired with a
chunky knit sweater strikes a great balance between comfort and
sleekness as the weather cools.
Have fun this fall with funky prints such as polka dots and plaid, womanly silhouettes and bold bright colors.
